The CBD or Central Business District in Sydney is the city centre of Sydney and is commonly referred to as Sydney’s heart. The Sydney CBD has a number of great places to go such as restaurants, bars and hotels. More than 25% of Sydney’s total jobs are located in the Sydney CBD. There are numerous events that occur throughout the year in Sydney’s CBD, from sporting events like cricket matches to cultural festivals like Vivid Sydney which showcases Sydney’s amazing architecture with light projections on buildings all around the city centre. There are two casinos located in Sydney’s CBD which host a number of different events throughout the year including concerts by famous singers like Michael Bublé at The Star casino or Elton John at The Prince Alfred casino. Vivid Sydney also provides entertainment with light shows projected onto buildings all around Sydney’s central business district.
There are also some great museums that you can visit while visiting Sydney’s CBD such as the Sydney aquarium. The Sydney aquarium is located on the harbourside and has some amazing exhibits and also has an underwater tunnel where you can enter a tank with tropical fish swimming above your head!
For sports lovers, there are also plenty of options to choose from in Sydney’s CBD including Sydney oval which is the famous place where cricket matches are held, as well as numerous other sporting facilities such as Sydney park which is home to the Sydney swans AFL team and Sydney Football Stadium which hosts rugby league games. There are many different parks that you can visit while in Sydney’s eastern suburbs, Bondi beach is one of the most popular beaches in Sydney and it is just a short walk from Sydney CBD!
